Slovenia to allocate EUR 10 million for solar PV plants of up to 10 MW

The Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has secured EUR 5 million from the EU Cohesion Fund for incentives for small-scale photovoltaic facilities

The cofinancing effort in the solar power sector is part of the Government of Slovenia’s EUR 30 million subsidies package, intended also for the use of renewables in district heating and small wind farms.

The Ministry of Infrastructure will launch a public call for non-refundable financial incentives for co-financing the purchase and installation of solar PV facilities with an installed capacity of 10 MW. The incentives can also be used for the facilities for self-consumption and energy storage devices.

The Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy of Slovenia has launched financial support in the form of a public tender for cofinancing the construction of small solar power plants.

The total amount of funds intended for the implementation of the tender is EUR 10 million, out of which EUR 5 million will be contributed by the Cohesion Fund.

The tender will be announced by the Ministry of Infrastructure.

Companies, entrepreneurs, and cooperatives can receive up to 3% of the investment in the small-scale PV plants, the ministry said earlier.
