Nikola Rovčanin is the new director of state-owned power utility Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG). He has replaced Igor Noveljić, who held the position from July 2017.

At the 52nd extraordinary session, the Board of Directors of Elektroprivreda Crne Gore dismissed the previous company head and appointed Nikola Rovčanin.

The decision is adopted in accordance with the law on companies and the statute of EPCG, the company said.

Igor Noveljić became director following the decision by Italy-based A2A to sell its minority stake in EPCG, later acquired by the Government of Montenegro, while Nikola Rovčanin was elected a few months into the current government’s mandate.

According to EPCG, Rovčanin, born in 1984, has a law degree.

Since 2014, he has been a member of the municipal parliament of Pljevlja. Since 2009 he was employed in water utility Vodovod Pljevlja, where he worked as a legal officer, secretary of the board of directors, head of the sector for general, legal and personnel affairs and legal affairs advisor.

He has been active in trade unions at the state and local level, EPCG said.

The board of directors said it expects that the newly elected executive director, together with his team, would manage the company much more successfully in order to improve the company’s results.
