Croatian technology and electric car company Rimac Automobili launched a urban mobility ecosystem project valued at EUR 450 million. The first phase envisages the construction of a mobility center with a town square, a park, a garage and a facility with e-chargers for autonomous electric taxis.

Rimac Automobili has announced a competition for architectural solutions for a mobility center, which should be built by the end of 2022. According to local media, the robotaxi service in Zagreb is planned to become available by 2024.

Rimac Automobili is developing a new urban mobility ecosystem based on an electric vehicle with a level five autonomy. The project includes car maintenance infrastructure in the planned mobility center.

At the mobility center, citizens will be able to become familiar with the new technologies

Zagreb will become one of the first cities in the world where a robotaxi service will be available – the use of autonomous electric taxis via an application, Jutarnji list reported.

The mobility center will be built near student dormitory Stjepan Radić in Croatia’s capital city and Rimac will use it in two ways.

The first is introducing citizens to new technologies in a park and through conversations with experts, and the second is charging, parking and maintaing electric taxis.
